Welcome Builders!
In case you've been on another planet for the last year or so, GREEN building is becoming a buzzword that's impossible to ignore. But, what does it mean? If everyone thinks they want it, you should try to figure it out pretty quickly!
The unavoidable problem is that suddenly EVERYTHING is green, according to the manufacturers. The manufacturing industry will continue to produce greener and greener products indefinitely, now that the green ball is rolling. There will always be a new "GREEN" product on the market, guaranteed.
If you're looking to differentiate your business, or simply offer a superior product for the sake of doing it the right way, looking to GREEN products is only half of the equation. How you build your house should also be considered and marketed!
So, what does GREEN really mean? We believe that it all come back to QUALITY. If you buy a housefull of green building products, but your subs don't put them all together correctly (poor efficiency, bad air quality, less durable, etc), is it still a GREEN house? Of course not.
The quality of the final product is what makes the grade. If it doesn't work, then is sure isn't GREEN.
We have identified what we call the Core Elements of a GREEN building, a QUALITY building, a BUILDING THAT WORKS. We believe that these core elements have to not only be present, but be "optimized" in order to have a truly GREEN house.
Unfortunately, it's not as easy as simply ordering the right product. Since every house is different, the core elements will always be represented in different ways.
